Resident in Counseling
My personal goal in life is to guide, educate, and support clients on the significance of mental health and self-care, assist with elimination of mental health taboos, and discrimination regarding therapy and medication along with encouraging positivity and self-acceptance. I am a culturally competent therapist who speaks a second language (Somali).
The counseling approaches I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Brief Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Psychology/education. I am trained in Addiction counseling and facilitating psycho-education Addiction groups with adults.
